An adult male Northern Cardinal in snow. They look especially bright — with striking red plumage — in the winter against the fresh snow.
They are song birds — and unlike many species of songbirds where only the male birds can vocalize — both male and female Cardinals can sing. Female Cardinal sing when they are in the nest as a way to signal male Cardinal to bring food to the nest.
The Cardinal is considered as state bird in seven U.S. states.

A heard of Pashmina goats and sheep in the lower Himalayas. Pashmina is the indigenous name for cashmere used by the mountain people throughout the Himalayan region. The Pashmina goats are raised primarily at higher elevations. Kashmir Pashmina wool is know to be the world’s finest measuring 12-15 microns in fabric thickness. Because of Kashmir conflict and the die-off of animals in Ladakh due to blizzards, the neighbouring country China has been able to dominate Pashmina productions in the past few decades.

Warming winters across the United States:
According to The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), currently on average, winter is warming across much of the United States, especially in northern locations and higher altitudes. Since the 1990s winters have been dramatically different. The 2000s decade had so little area with extreme cold, that the decadal average sits barely above the zero line of percentage of areas experiencing extreme cold.
And, according to VOX by 2050 about 67 cities in the United States could lose a month or more of days with temperatures below freezing. And this loss of freezing days will in turn harm ecosystems, human health, and water resources!

A bird’s eye view of Acadia National Park — which looks like a world map from the sky — one of untouched landscapes located in the state of Maine in the USA.
This national park spreads across 47, 000-acre in the Atlantic coast and reserves much of Mount Desert Island and associated smaller islands along the coast.
